Our Vision

A LIFE WITH GOD

Our desire is to be a place where God is worshiped, where hearts are converted, and where people experience true spiritual growth. Our vision is rooted foremost in a commitment to a Life of Prayer.

Daily Prayer

Daily prayer connects us to God, bringing the purpose and meaning of our days into focus. In the Anglican tradition, we use daily “common” prayers, which we call the Daily Office, that connects us to other Christians around the world—past and present. We also care deeply about developing our own personal prayer. Praying daily—individually and as a community—is probably the most significant way that we draw closer to God and one another.

Sacraments

We believe God created the whole world and poured his grace into it. And he uses the physical world as the means through which he both reveals himself and maintains relationship with us. Every week we participate in the Eucharist, where in the simple things of bread and wine, Jesus gives us the very gift of himself. Sacraments remind us that God is always with us. They are works done by Jesus for his Church, not something we do for him.

Scriptures

When you love someone you want to know them deeper. It’s no different with God. Because we love God we seek to know and understand him. The Bible is the key place we go to know God more—we study it regularly in our daily prayer and weekly worship. We also study what God has revealed in his world and his people to deepen our understanding of how God wants us to live.

Community

Jesus’ ministry on earth was with and for every kind of person. Everywhere Jesus went, he drew followers, often from unlikely populations. That’s the community we join when we follow Jesus. We’re equal citizens of this patchwork kingdom God is building across time, from all cultures and classes. No one person has the full picture of what God is doing in our time and place. To know what God is up to, we share our stories and lives with those who’ve committed to following Jesus.
